Better An Oops | Motivational Monday | 2017 #3

Oh Hai!

Merry Monday to you! The best day of the week is Monday because it's a brand new chance to achieve everything you want and a fresh slate.

Last week I did a few new and brave things. I went for an appointment to see if I'm eligible for laser eye surgery (I am! Yay! I'll be having it done in March!), I had afternoon tea with Sophie Kinsella to talk books, babies and more AND this weekend I went to Spain for a night (more on this later)!

I'm trying out bravery. I'm trying out meeting amazing authors and having LASERS beamed into my eyeballs and jetting off with Darcy even though travel unsettles me because I've wasted so, so, so much time not letting myself go for things. My life is pretty amazing but I hold back a lot. Imagine what I could do if I didn't?

Imagine what you might do this week if you just said, 'better and oops than a what if?'. Think of the fun you'd have or things you'd accomplish!

This week I urge, when faced with a choice, say our Motivational Monday quote to yourself, give it a go and see what happens! I'd be interested to hear in the comments how you got on!

I hope last week gave you the inspiration to keep going with those resolutions you made nearly 4 weeks ago- I'm so far sticking to mine but it's not always that easy!!

Let me know in the comments and I'll see you soon!

  1. This is going to sound disgustingly like a self-promo and I don't mean for it to be, but it fits perfectly with your post, Louise.

This year I am trying out YouTube. I have no expectations of being as successful as those I look up to (yourself very much included :D) but it is something I am passionate about and want to try. I started a blog this time last year and freaked out halfway through as I worried those in my real life circles would find it and judge me. I feel like doing these things is really cool when you have lots of people invested in watching/reading your content, but weird if no one really cares about it - hence why I want to keep it quiet until I have something to show for it. But I digress - I deleted the blog in May.

Here I am in 2017 trying again, because I couldn't shake the feeling that this is what I love and am passionate about. Every day I am scared that someone I know will find it and I'll be the laughing stock, but every day I am also filled with joy and pleasure at what I am doing. I was right. It is so fun. I love it so much. And it is the right fit for me. However scary it may be.

Thank you, Louise, for bringing this field to my attention. Thank you for showing me what YouTube is like. Thank you for igniting in me a passion for something I didn't even know about but realised I've loved all my life. Thank you for being a living example of bravery to me (I channeled your bravery well before I started YouTube) and encouraging me, without even knowing it, to chase after the things I am passionate about, despite the fact that I am in equal measure scared of them.

    1. Hello Ellie! I've felt the same for such a long long while - wanting to start a blog, a YouTube channel, anything, just to share what I had to say but felt so stuck and being afraid of what people might think. Eventually I started a blog in summer 2015 and although for a solid 6 months I barely had readers but I decided I'd keep going. Since then I've gotten to know so many amazing people through blogging and it's become such a huge part of my life, it was so so silly to hold myself back because of what others might think. I really hope your channel will give you what you want! :)

    2. I totally agree kittenish! Right now my goal is to simply get more views (reach more people) in each video than I did the subsequent one. And hopefully get one more subscriber before the end of January :D It's not about the numbers of course - more about wanting to share and engage with others - but the numbers are an indication of that happening!

  2. Hello my dear Louise ,
thanks to you I've started my blog, you are very confident , beautiful and successful woman. I'm not that confident but I'm learning from you, yes from you . I want to be successful in my life and don't want to be in the shadow of my husband. I know that you are very busy woman, but maybe you will find some time to read my blog and let me know what do you think, link to my blog
English is not my first language so that blog is probably crap.

  3. Hi Louise! I am an American viewer/reader, married to a Marine and we live in Japan. Over the past year I have been contemplating starting a blog so that my family and friends can see all of our fun travels over here in Japan. I also have a 15 month old daughter and so I'd do little updates on her as well on my blog. I haven't started one yet because I'm a bit afraid of the judgment that can come with doing these sorts of things. I didn't really know that being a Youtuber or major blogger was a real thing until about a week ago when you came across my YouTube recommend videos.

Well I'm hooked!! I have watched quite a few of your videos *cough possibly too many* and have just scrolled through your blog...then this new blog post came up. Thank you for being you and being so encouraging! My husband is gone for his job over half the year and so I solo parent my daughter while he's gone. Sometimes life gets a little overwhelming but reading your lovely blogs about motherhood helps remind myself that this mommy is doing her best! Thank you so much for the reminder that I am enough!

I am going to start my blog tomorrow, as it's now 8pm and I've taken far too long to write this! Thank you so much! Keep being yourself! Also, I'm quite enjoying your new carefree videos. Being a mama/mommy/mum isn't all about being on your best behavior. You're a breath of fresh air.

  4. This week, I've thrown myself into high gear, and have written all my essays and finished applications to go back for my Masters degree! I'm excited to get back in the game and keep improving myself this year and beyond.

  5. Hey Louise,
As a person that is full of Oops because I don't usually say no to things, it is the best thing you can do! Seriously! My most happy days were those that were not planned and that you just go for it, without really knowing what to expect!
Bravery will make you very happy! Trust me!

  6. Thank you for this! My resolution was to create something every day. I'm still going strong - no matter how small the creation may be!

  7. Louise - this was just the quote I needed this morning. I did something brave yesterday, it didnt have the outcome I was hoping for but I would rather that than wonder what if. I am a single mum of two girls and I love reading your blog posts and watching your videos. Keep up the good work - makes me feel less alone in some of the things I go through.

  8. Seriously needed to hear that quote today. I'm always worried/anxious/unsure about doing something or committing. Thanks Louise! <3 Love you!

  9. I love that quote, and yes your post last week really helped stay motivated me stick to goals!
    Thank you!

  10. I am so with you on this one! In fact, this year I have promised myself to be more "daring". I don't want to call it a resolution, as they never work, so instead I am trying to apply it to everything I do. :)

  11. I totally agree with this blog post, I'm trying out more brave things and stepping out of my comfort zone a bit! So far, it's going really well!

  12. I'm really enjoying these Motivational Monday posts! They're pushing me into action and making me approach things differently, so thank you Louise! They're genuinely helping me :) xxx

  15. I am going on a trip to Berlin in a couple of weeks, all my past journeys abroad have been full of panic attacks and crying but I'm going to brave it and try my hardest to enjoy it! People like you inspire me to try things like this even if at first I don't succeed, thank you so much 💕 xx

  16. This week I faced my fear of public transport and had a lovely day out in Brighton. It was only an hour long journey but it's all about baby steps. I'm also trying out bravery this year! In September I'm moving out of my childhood home and I know it's going to be hard but it'll do me the world of good (eventually...)

  17. i used to be the noisemaker and he or she was the nest-maker. Now i'm greater worried around the house - I assist with laundry, do the dishes. we are a group and our roles interchange, depending on who's fascinated or to be had.

  18. My name is Terry: I was so tired of mistrust towards my girlfriend of three years. Even though we live happily some days but she still give me reasons to keep suspecting her. The problem is she likes older men and also finds it difficult to say no to a stalker, but we love each other and cant let go. I was really suffering inside for not being able to trust the woman I want to marry, I cant even forgive her for what she did August of last year for going on secret vacation with her boss.
As I share this testimony, my girl has finally changed after Dr. Wakina intervened by healing her for good. She was cursed by her step mother to live a wasted life. Nobody knew this, even her until Dr. Wakina revealed and freed her. We have been living in peace for three months now. The spell cast on her destroyed the curse within four days. I think Ive done something good that she appreciates once in our relationship.

  19. Hey Louise, i'm returning to this blog post as last night i was elected onto my itys youth council which is a big deal for me in terms of how far i've come with my confidence and putting yourself out there and getting those opportunities. But you're right, better an oops than a what if right? Life's too short, you're doing a great job inspiring young women, keep it up! xxx

  22. Good day,,,,
Read my testimony!!! Getting ex back after a breakup. Am Cora L. Sanchez 30 from UK, my boyfriend of a 2year just broke up with me and am 28 weeks pregnant. I have cried my self to sleep most of the nights and don’t seem to concentrate during lectures sometimes I stay awake almost all night thinking about him and start to cry all over again. Because of this I end up not having energy for my next day’s classes, my attendance has dropped and am always in uni and on time. Generally he is a very nice guy, he ended it because he said we were arguing a lot and not getting along. He is right we’ve been arguing during the pregnancy a lot. After the break up I kept ringing him and telling him I will change. I am in love with this guy and he is the best guy I have ever been with. I’m still hurt and in disbelief when he said he didn’t have any romantic feelings towards me anymore that hurt me faster than a lethal syringe. He texts me now and then mainly to check up on how am doing with the pregnancy, he is supportive with it but it’s not fair on me, him texting me as I just want to grieve the pain and not have any stress due to the pregnancy. i was really upset and i needed help, so i searched for help online and I came across a website that suggested that Dr Ahmed can help solve marital problems, restore broken relationships and so on. So I felt I should give him a try. I contacted him and he told me what to do and i did it then he did a spell for me. 22 hours later, my boyfriend came to me and apologized for the wrongs he did and promise never to do it again. Ever since then, everything has returned back to normal. I and my boyfriend are living together happily again.. All thanks to Dr Ahmed. as it is a place to resolve marriage/relationship issues, do you want to be sure if your spouse is being faithful to you or Do you want your Ex to come back to you Contact.: E-mail: or call/Whats-app: +2348160153829 save your crumbling home and change of grades its 100% safe. I suggest you contact him. He will not disappoint you.

  23. My wife is back!!!
My name is Albert Brown. I had a problem with my wife six months ago, which lead to us going apart. When she broke up with me,i was no longer myself,I felt so empty inside. Until a friend of mine told me about a spell caster that helped in same problem too, that she found on Web page. i emailed the spell caster and I told him my problem and I did what he asked me to briefly To cut the long story short, before i knew what was happening, not up to 48 hours,my wife text me and said she wanted to come back and so she came back to me and told me she was sorry about what has happened, she now tell me every time and every day that she loves and miss me. I'm so grateful to this great spell caster Dr Noble and i will not stop publishing his name on the Internet just for the good work he has done. If you need any help you can contact this great man he will help you any any way you want, you can email him at i guarantee you that he will also help you okay
